Here they are.
Remember these pops from this shower? I received so many emails and requests for the how-to and I finally re-created them in the kitchen. I planned to show a lot more, but I ate half of them while working. But who’s counting, right? Right?
They’re just like regular cake pops with a few minor changes and lots of detail. To make your own, you’ll need: one box of yellow cake mix baked and cooled, 1 16oz can of cream cheese frosting, Wilton candy melts, chocolate chips (ears), candy necklace candies (eyes), brown M&Ms (wings), flower sprinkles (feet), sucker sticks, and Duff’s Flavored Sprinkles (nose). Duff’s can be found at your local Michael’s Store.
In a large bowl, crumble your cake and add a big spoonful of the frosting. Mix well. You don’t want to add too much frosting because the cake won’t roll into balls if it’s too gooey. Roll into balls and place in freezer for 15 minutes. To make the ears, melt some chocolate and use it to attach chocolate chips to the tops of the balls. Place back in freezer for 15 more minutes.
This is where I started to eat all of them. I wasn’t even hungry. It’s just what I do when food is within reach.
Dip the bottom of the stick in the melted chocolate and stab it into the ball between the ears. Now take the whole ball and dip it completely into the chocolate. Place on a cookie sheet.
Okay, now this is where you have to work quick. Once the ball is on the cookie sheet, start attaching the eyes and wings. The chocolate sets quick so if you can’t get everything on, use a toothpick to dab some chocolate onto the rest of the parts.
That’s pretty much it! Any questions? The thing I love about these is that they aren’t perfect. They look kind of kitschy but in a good way. PLUS they’re delicious. And that’s all that matters in life. What do you think?

I made these for my niece’s 2nd birthday party, which was owl-themed! She recognized them as owls right away and everyone said they were delicious and such a BIG hit! Thank you for making such cute cake pops!
