Tut Tuesday: Let’s dish.
If there’s anything I love, it’s a good mug. I mean it. I love mugs. I love to drink out of ‘em. I love to look at ‘em. I love to buy ‘em. There are so many to choose from, right?
I imagine a world where everything is porcelain (but it can’t break!) and we all get to paint and do whatever we want. The best place to start is with some good ole’ fashioned white dishes. You can customize them any which way you want. I like blue. So here we go.
To make these spotted beauties you need: a mug, small paintbrush, and some porcelain paint in any color you prefer.
I went with the turquoise. Cuz I’m cool like that. And it ends up a darker, navy-like blue.
Shake the bottle and then open up. Use the lid to hold a little bit of the paint.
Dip the circular end of your paintbrush in the paint.
And get crackin’.
And that’s it! It takes about 30 minutes start to finish. Let the paint dry and bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Now you have some cute new dishes.
It’s not super uniform and that’s why I like it.
After the mug, move on to a bowl! Have faith. Take the leap.
