Tut Tuesday: Lemon Dessert Bowls

What up what up? Did you enjoy your Monday? I sure did. I flew home early in the morning and then just kicked back and watched the rain smother our grass. Just kidding. I didn’t get to kick back, but it was still nice to have the moisture. It’s so dry here, you guys! Holy!

Because it’s so hot, my diet has consisted mostly of sorbet. Raspberry sorbet to be exact. It’s just the most delicious stuff and I’m addicted. It’s perfect to serve up to friends on a hot summer night. Why don’t you switch it up? Instead of using boring old bowls, carve out some lemons, freeze them, and scoop sorbet just before serving. Easy peasy.

Let’s view some pictures, shall we?

I don’t mind using plastic serveware, but I just hate when it’s so blah. Use a little washi tape to create some little flags. For cute, right? Now, let’s talk about how Emily skipped out on the overnight dates last night? I bet there were some pretty upset men out there. I’m proud. So proud.

What’s your take?

  1. I am seriously obsessed with sorbet. My favorite is this kind that has little bits of pineapple in it. Deeelish. What a fun/cute idea to put them in lemons!!

I thought Emily carried herself very well last night and I am more and more impressed by her. Next week looks like there isn’t even a rose ceremony! (well, in 2 weeks I guess with the Men Tell All next week). Sean will tots be the next Bach.

  2. Hi Lexy! Found you blog through the Alt class last night, and so glad I did – it’s fabulous!

So I’m usually more of an ice cream gal, but the sorbet in the lemons looks amazing, I may just have to change things up a bit. I’m crazy like that.

And I love the washi tape idea.. I have so many cute washi tape rolls and always looking for ways to use them!

Looks delicious!! I was lucky enough to go to Italy and the best sorbet I ever had was a lemon one encased in lemon… yummy!

  10. stacey says:

I love this. I had fresh walnut sorbet in a little walnut shell in Italy. As well as tangerine! It was highlight of my trip and I have been wanting to do something like this.. and your blog was a great reminder!

    • Lexy says:

Hi Stacey! Walnut sorbet sounds too delish for words. Was it chunky? Is that a weird question? Maybe we should go to Italy…

  11. Oh my gosh. I’m dying. This is FABULOUS!!!! So easy and cute! It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect.

This is adorable! I’d like to do this for my daughter’s first birthday party this coming sunday – Its a pink lemonade theme party! Do you know if i could prep this the night before at all? like gut the lemons and refrigerate them, so all i have to do at the party is scoop?

    • Lexy says:

Hi Johna! You can totally do these the night before! I would scoop ‘em out and place them in the freezer until you are ready to serve the sorbet! :) Have a great party! Take lots of pics! I’d love to see! :)
