The Cricut Explore Does What?!

January 30, 2014

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Vita-roo and I were in Salt Lake City last week. We were lucky enough to be flown out by the folks at Cricut to learn all about their newest machine, the Cricut Explore. Now, I will be the first to tell you that I really didn’t know much about any of the Cricut machines. I knew they cut paper. And that’s about it. But holy moly cricut batman, you guys! These do more than just cut paper. I snapped some photos and you just have to see. You just have to.

Everything was so perfectly styled. I am ready to join the Cricut team and to have the chance to style these events. I’ll just sit around and wait until that glorious day comes. See that wooden placemat with the unique vinyl design? Cut from the Cricut. The paper menu? Cut from the Cricut. I died when I learned about all the materials this machine can cut through. Wood, metal, magnet, cork board, and felt are just to name a few!

The Cricut team had styled all of the conference rooms with a different theme. The Utah room was my absolute favorite. You walked in and immediately felt like you were in a cozy little cabin. Hot chocolate was served. Decorative thermoses were abundant. Flannel throws. Tents pitched. S’more brownies. (I took more than one, but I am not going to give you an exact number.)

The place settings in the Utah room were gorgeous. These lovely napkin rings were felt cut from the Cricut. The paper leaves? Cut from the Cricut.

These lovely pots were outfitted with vinyl stickers (cut from Mr. Cricut, of course!) in different colors and shapes. The foxes. A must when glamping.

Almost every decorative detail was created using the Cricut Explore. My mind was honestly blown everywhere I looked.

One of the other conference rooms took on a Big Apple kind of theme. Caramel apples for everyone. It was staged as a 1920′s New York and there were amazing dresses being modeled in this room. This one was the show-stopper. All of those butterflies were cut from paper using the Cricut Explore. I mean, is your mind reeling with all the possibilites? I am seriously so amazed by the genius.

cricut explore Hands down, one of my favorite parts of the entire conference was the flower arrangements. Created by Ashley Beyer, the genius behind Tinge Floral, they were stunning and unique and impossibly fresh-looking. She styled every arrangement for every table the day before. And we all thought the arrangements would just be re-used the next morning. Nope. That girl took all the flowers and re-arranged them for the following day! Bless her. And her amazing skills. If you’re in Utah and are in need of some lovely blooms, I urge you to stalk her.

This is just a little teaser of what’s to come. I’m honestly stoked to get to partner with Cricut and bring you some baller projects down the road. I mean, this thing cuts leather. Stop it. I’m dead. To read more about the Cricut Explore and how you can get your hands on one, head on over to Cricut’s website! And check out the video below. I’m not a Cricut wizard, but I aim to be. So for now, watch the vid and learn all about the amazingness you can create with this machine!

*Though I was given a Cricut Explore, all opinions are my own. I honestly just love this machine and the possibilities it creates! Thanks for being supportive of the companies that help The Proper Pinwheel build unique content!

I can’t believe these aren’t available for purchase yet. I have a wedding, a woodland baby shower, hot air balloon baby shower, Easter celebration and mehendi party to throw in the next three months. I wish I could buy this now.

Melissa! We were in and out that whole week! We were planning to stay for all of Alt, but we both got so very sick! It just couldn’t be done. But the Cricut event was just mind-blowing! I hope you had the best time at Alt! :)
