The weeks are just breezing by. The days are blurring together. I am scrambling to find a few minutes to shower. And do the dishes. And catch up on Vampire Diaries. Stefan!!!! Ack!
I absolutely love Halloween. It’s my favorite holiday. And then comes Christmas. And then the fourth of July. And then my birthday. But back to Halloween! I normally go crazy-crazy every October, but I’ve had to let loose now that Baby Vita is here! V totally loves Halloween. I’m still working on her costume. It’s gonna be cuh-ute! I haven’t had two seconds to shower, let alone carve a pumpkin. If you want some festive gourds hanging out on your porch this year, but don’t want to deal with the pumpkin-gut-mess, then you need to make this string & nail art pumpkin! Chelsea of Lovely Indeed shares exactly how she made it over on her blog! Genius, I tell you.

To say I’m smitten with my baby would be an understatement. The weeks are just flying by. Baby Vita (pronounced vee-da) is over one week old. Can you believe it?! I can’t. I also feel like I haven’t showered since she was born. I can believe that. So far, motherhood has been an insane adventure that I’ll have to tell y’all about when I can sit down and process it all. It involves a lack of sleep, a trip to the emergency room, and a car accident! You can’t make this stuff up, my friends. It’s a good thing my mom was here with a 12-pack of Diet Coke! She keeps me young.
We plan to do lots of snuggling this weekend. Logan’s parents are coming into town to meet Baby V so there will be lots of hugging and kissing going on! And eating. And *hopefully* sleeping.

I’m spending today finishing projects and learning how to be awesome with the help of Alt For Everyone. Is anyone attending that online conference currently? Are you heading to SLC in January? I want to know!

I’m @properpinwheel and we should be friends. You’ll get lots of Diet Coke spam. I kid. I kid. ;)
The amazing chic ice bucket above was created by my girl, Mandy, of Fabric Paper Glue. This girl has such an eye for the DIY. She also takes amazing photos. You should probably have an end-of-summer-misery-party. And if you’re going to have a party, you’re going to need an ice bucket. And if you’re going to need an ice bucket, you should probably make this one. Head on over to Fabric Paper Glue for the full tutorial!

What’s that you said? I haven’t posted a Fresh Find Friday roundup in a long while? Oh that’s correct. But let’s not dwell on the past, mmmkay? Even though I work from home, I cherish the weekends. I look forward to them ALLLLLLL week long. We’ve got nothing-but-baby-projects on the docket this weekend. First up: the painting of the nursery. Stay tuned for how that goes down. We’ve got to cover some dark brown walls with some super light paint. And when I say “we”, I actually mean “Logan”. He’s such a trooper and he doesn’t even know it.
The photo above is an illustration of our beloved Taggers created by my pal, Joy Laforme. She’s created a fun series called The Pet Project where she illustrates other bloggers’ pets! I’m so honored to have Tagg included. Doesn’t he look so classy and regal in those wellies? Yup.

Happy First Day of Summer!!! It may have been feeling like summer for while where you are, but here in Denver? It’s official. No more snow. (Finger crossed!). And we’re in the 90’s, my friends. Whoop whoop! I absolutely love the summer time. We try to go on weekend adventures as much as possible in the summer.
This weekend’s adventure: Mt. Rushmore! We’ve got a route all mapped out and will be stopping at several other hot spots like the nation’s largest Cabela’s. Heck yeah. We’re gon’ have some fun there. :) What are you up to this weekend? Any travel plans? DIY projects?
The photo above is from Melanie of You Are My Fave. She’s having her sometimes-annual First Day of Summer party tonight here in Denver. I’m so sad we’ll be missing it because look how awesome this popsicle photo backdrop is! I have a feeling the party will be popsicle-themed and no-less-than-awesome. Aloha, friendlies. We are just wrapping things up here in Hawaii and I am so depressed about it. This week has flown by and it’s almost time to return to Denver. I’m sad, but knowing that there is no snow awaiting me softens the blow a bit. The photo above was taken the other evening and has NO filter on it! Canyabelieveit? No filter. That’s just how pretty it is here. Dangit, Denver. While I’m soaking up the last few drops of Colada, here are some links to kick off your weekend. :)

People of the web! I am sooooo excited for this particular Friday. Why? Because we are heading to M-A-U-I tomorrow morning! That’s right. Prego Lexy is gettin’ on a plane. And I’ve got drugs. I’ve got a travel pillow. I’ve got the seventh book of Harry Potter to keep me company. That plane ride better be a piece of cake. I’ll be out all next week but have some amazing guest contributors sharing some quality goods with y’all each day! So make sure you come on back. Make sure.
